I’m pretty sure this recipe is where the phrase “burst of flavor” originated!
This is the kind of recipe that will turn so many simple dishes into flavorful, colorful masterpieces. It’s also the kind of recipe that uses up some produce on a “clean out the fridge” day! Am I the only one who has those?
And the best part… it only takes about 10 minutes to make!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cup red cabbage
- 1/4 small red onion
- 1/2 jalapeno
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Method:
- Slice the red cabbage into thin strips until you get about half a cup.
- Mince the onion, garlic, and jalapeno. Don’t touch your eyes!
- Roll the lime and squeeze about a tablespoon of fresh juice.
- Combine all ingredients in a bowl. To get the best flavor, let it sit while you make your meal, stirring occasionally.

Spicy Vegan Slaw
This slaw adds an incredible flavor to so many dishes, and it's so simple to make!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup red cabbage
- 1/4 small red onion
- 1/2 jalapeno
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
Instructions
- Veggie prep: Mince the garlic, onion, and jalapeno. Slice the cabbage into thin strips.
- Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and let sit for at least 10 minutes, stirring every now and then.
- Enjoy & share! This slaw is great on so many dishes, including my cauliflower tacos.
