This is one of my all-time favorite recipes! It will never leave my rotation of weeknight dinners.
Cauliflower wings helped make my transition to veganism SO easy! They have such a great, satisfying crunch, and they’re so easy to make! These are absolutely foolproof – the batter is a simple mixture, and the wings are baked, not fried. I could eat these one after another until the whole pan is empty (cauliflower is a vegetable, so that’s okay, right?) Barbecue is my favorite (especially my homemade bbq sauce), but this recipe can easily be made with buffalo or any other sauce.
Ingredients:
- 1 large head of cauliflower
- 3/4 cup flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tbsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
- barbecue sauce
Method:
- Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F/230 degrees C. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Wash and chop cauliflower into bite sized florets. Save the stems and leaves for something else!
- Combine the flour with 1 cup of water in a large bowl. Add the garlic and onion powder, salt, and whisk until well combined. Separately, add the breadcrumbs to a smaller bowl.
- Toss the cauliflower in the flour mixture first, gently shaking off the excess batter, then coat in breadcrumbs. Place on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes, flip, then bake for another 15 minutes. Toss the cauliflower in the barbecue sauce until fully coated, then return to the pan. Bake for another 10 minutes.
- Top with green onions, and serve with vegan ranch. Enjoy & share!
