Best Vegan Waffles

You only need seven household ingredients to make this fluffy, crispy, amazing breakfast staple.

Although it’s getting easier every day, finding a breakfast place with vegan waffles is tough. Years ago, as a brand new vegan, this fact was a dark cloud over my head. I set out to find a dairy- and egg-free waffle recipe that tasted just as good as the waffles I ate growing up.

Success! Here it is – a vegan waffle recipe with no unusual ingredients and all the texture & flavor of a waffle you’d find at any breakfast place.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup plant milk
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

Method:

  • Combine all the dry ingredients in a large bowl (sugar, salt, flour, baking powder).
  • Add the wet ingredients & stir until just combined.
  • The batter may be a little lumpy – this is not a problem!
  • Heat your waffle maker (this one is my all-time favorite) using the medium setting for waffles that are fluffy yet crispy.
  • Top with butter, syrup, fresh fruit, and/or whipped cream. YUM!
