Baked Tofu

One thing every recipe book should include is an easy way to make the perfect baked tofu!

Tofu takes on any flavor you want it to with ease. The one thing people struggle with the most, myself included, is getting it to a satisfying texture. I love shredded tofu for a meaty texture, blended for a cream, and baked for almost everything else! This tofu is crispy on the outside, soft in the middle, so easy to make, and packed with protein. I love baking a full block of tofu and serving it with different veggies and flavors all week long!

Ingredients:

  • 1 block (14 oz) extra firm tofu
  • 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

NOTE:

I used extra firm tofu, so I pressed it beforehand. (The only tofu I never press is super firm!) I have tried at least five different tofu presses, and this one is my absolute favorite. It’s so easy to use, and it always gets the job done.

Method:

  • Press the tofu for 20 minutes. Slice it into 3/4″ cubes or whatever shape you want.
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F/200 degrees C, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, add the tofu, then all remaining ingredients. Toss to combine and coat the tofu.
  • Lay the tofu out on the baking sheet in a single layer.
